Razvan Marin then extended the Tricolours’ advantage after 53 minutes with a powerful strike from long range that slipped under Ukraine goalkeeper Andriy Lunin.

Romania further solidified their victory just four minutes later when Denis Dragus tapped in Dennis Man’s precise cross from close range.


Their lone previous triumph at the Euros occurred in 2000, when a late Ionel Ganea penalty secured a dramatic 3-2 victory over England in the group stage.
